Why this exists.
Stemalytics started with one flower shop in Oconto, Wisconsin, and a question its owner couldn't answer: what did a rose cost her last Tuesday?
Secret Garden Floral Design had a point-of-sale system that knew every sale. It had three years of wholesale invoices in a filing cabinet that knew every cost. Nothing connected the two. So every price in the shop was built on a number somebody had typed in once, months earlier, and never revisited - because keeping it current would have meant re-entering a hundred figures a week by hand.
I built something to answer the question. It read the invoices, sorted the lines into fresh, greens and hard goods, and kept the costs current without anyone retyping them. The answer to what a rose cost last Tuesday turned out to be available all along - it was sitting in a filing cabinet in a form nobody had time to add up.
Other shop owners I have spoken to have the same question and the same filing cabinet. That is what Stemalytics is: the thing I built for one shop, made to work for theirs.
